Swiss enamel jewelry possesses a character all its own. Often quite elaborate and exquisitely detailed, they run the gamut from miniature portraits frequently of young women, to precise and serene landscapes to full and boisterous patterning for the sheer joy of decoration.

In its original French antique fitted box, this is an unusual chain for its overall scale. Often chains were created wide and showy. This one however is wearable anytime, day or night.

More petite and delicate in all, it's length is just over 27 inches. In 14k yellow gold, the length of both sides is fully enameled in multicolored shades. From regal blue, to teal, shell pink, seafoam green to white, almost every color of the rainbow is represented.

A repouss? pendant hangs from the chain but may be removed and is adorned with more enamel as well as a pink topaz, a wine-red garnet, and two emeralds. Its puffy and rococo profile creates a charming jewel.

It is housed in its original brown leather, cream silk and black velvet box.
